![]() Other topics of discussion include: domain name privacy and administration, auto-renewal, domain forwarding, and name server assignment. ![]() We provide a comparison of different registrars and register a sample domain name using GoDaddy. Students gain hands-on experience with the registration process using popular domain registrars. ccTLD’s (Country Code Top Level Domains) are also explored. This includes the role of registrars and TLD (Top Level Domain) administration by ICANN. We provide an overview of the domain name registration process. We also examine the infrastructure requirements of popular, resource intensive applications such as Netflix and Facebook to emphasize the importance of avoiding costly mistakes in the initial stages of development. Students are also introduced to the importance of web server scalability and the advantages of cloud hosting over traditional hosting services. We provide an overview of various packages offered by different web hosting companies and weigh the pros and cons of each one. We conduct an in-depth case analysis of web hosting solutions including: Shared, Virtual Private, Dedicated and Cloud Hosting. Section 5: Web Hosting and System Requirements I would gladly pay for the integration though.Students will gain an understanding of all the steps involved in the web development process. It is very user-friendly and is very much like GoDaddy, minus the integration. It does not integrate with Etsy or eBay so you will have to manually upload your files once a month which should only take a few minutes. It is pain to manually categorize everything again but I have managed to get up to 2017 so far (only 5 years to go haha). So I signed up for Wave Accounting and so far everything that I import adds up and matches 100%. I have hundreds of thousands of transactions to go through. I absolutely cannot do this with 12 years worth of data. There is also no way to account for partial refunds, except to find the original transaction and edit the amount to reflect the refund that was given later. Anything old has to be manually imported and all the refunds have to either be canceled out (find the original order and the refund and delete both) or recorded them mas an expense. The problem is that you can only go back to the beginning of 2022 with Etsy integration. You cannot enter them as negative income, although if you connect your Etsy account those ones do come in as negative income. The deal breaker for me is that there is no way to record refunds. ![]() You also cannot create your own categories (only ones that are on a schedule-C are available). But it does not integrate with eBay (only QB Online does) so if you sell on both venues this won't work that well either. So I signed up for QB self-employed instead which is much more simple and it integrates with Etsy. QB online is also extremely over-complicated and doesn't really reflect what I need. Nothing matches up, nothing adds up, it was simply not going to work. ![]() When I called GoDaddy and said I would like to speak to someone who could assist me with my GoDaddy Bookkeeping account the guy laughed at me and said "good luck!" He told me that if the migration didn't work then I needed to manually export everything from GoDaddy and import it into QB. I called QB and was told I had to call GoDaddy. There was random data that did import into QB online and it was a mess. I started the QB migration on May 26 and after a week I finally got a status that said it had failed with no option to try again. I have 12 years of data in GoDaddy for all of my sales on Etsy & eBay. ![]()
